The Resolution

The Resolution is a lifestyle blog created by me, Kristie Bringhurst. I write about my daily life with my amazing/hilarious/seldom-dressed husband, Karl and our two cats, Kitten and Ponce. I am an English major and Arts and Technology minor at the University of Utah. In February of 2011 I quit my job in the banking industry to pursue cultivating a creative life and focusing on my studies. I'm learning to not be so afraid of failure, especially in my drawing and painting, and I'm always trying to improve myself by setting daily goals or "resolutions." Some of these resolutions include cooking more (I often post my successes and failures here), writing for myself, traveling as much as possible, showing more affection, and finding at least one thing to belly-laugh about every day. I started this blog as more of a daily journal and it's evolved into so much more. The Resolution is a place I love. I feel like the best version of myself while I'm writing. I hope that you can feel like the best version of yourself while reading.

I'm a 24 year old girl living in Salt Lake City. I was born and raised in Massachusetts. At 18, I made a pilgrimage to the great state of Utah in search of faith, good friends, and love. My husband and I were married in July of 2010 and it's been wedded bliss ever since. I like indie music, v-neck t-shirts, and dancing in the kitchen. Blue is my favorite color and I can never decide if I like myself better as a Blond or Brunette.
