A New Design and Resolutions Updates

First things first, you may have noticed that there's a new look to The Resolution! It wasn't planned, but yesterday, I just felt like it needed a fresh face. So several hours (and lots of trial and error) later I have a new design with a few new interactive tools for you:

Left column: new social media icons so you can follow me everywhere// a new subscribe button

Right column: A "Popular Posts" link where you can find my top ten most visited posts// An instagram slideshow// A "Song of the Week" widget that will be updated on Mondays.

I'm proud of my design which, though I own Photoshop, I challenged myself to make using the completely free programs, Picmonkey and Paint. That being said, the design in still under construction for a bit so if you happen to notice that my blog isn't displaying correctly/I spelled something wrong/or anything else I could improve, please, please, please don't hesitate to let me know!

Now onto my regular posting:

I know I said I'd discuss my progress with my resolutions at the beginning of each month, but that didn't work out time wise. So, even though I'm a bit behind, I still wanted to update you. January was a hard month. I was sick for a couple of weeks and my trainer went on vacation. Still , with the nature of the campus I'm on all day Monday-Friday, I was able to get in lots of cardio. I didn't quite live up to the 5x per week thing, but I have been consistently training three times per week since the beginning of January. I even increased my normal half hour sessions on Wednesdays to a full hour, so in that arena, I'm killing it.

Eating is another story entirely. Being sick is not conducive to cooking your own meals. That will be my focus in March though, especially since I seem to have the working out thing down.

In other resolutions news, my photography skills are getting better (Take Better Photos). Also, Karl and I planned a trip to Lava Hot Springs for spring break and a camping trip on the Oregon Coast this summer (More Vacations).

How are your resolutions coming? Also, if you would like to know how I did certain design things using Picmonkey and Paint exclusively, shoot me an e-mail. It will auto-fill if you click the mail social media icon in the left column!

Have a great weekend!
