Nail Art
Lately I've been getting into trying new things with my nails. I actually find it quite therapeutic! I figured I'd share them here with you all. Do any of you like to play with your nail polish? Leave a link to any posts here and I'll be sure to check them out!

Our Weekend Adventures
Friends, it's been a while since I last did an "Our Weekend Adventures" post and I've been thinking of doing them again, and what better time than the present?
Friday:
Karl and I treated ourselves to Tepanyaki (a Japanese steakhouse) for dinner and went to see The Avengers. It was awesome. Just as amazing as I expected. We want to see it again ASAP.
Saturday:
We did a ton of shopping and we bought a grill! Finally! Haha. We also made like a million trips to Lowes to buy all the stuff we needed for our little garden. This post shows some pictures of our baby seedlings, but now they are sprouted and in the ground! We spent the entire last half of the day mixing dirt, filling pots and planting! Our garden is ready andhopefully it will soon be full of tomatoes, various hot peppers and bell peppers, squash, zucchini, and watermelon. This year is going to be awesome.
Sunday:
My parents were visiting my aunts and uncles in Idaho, but drove back down to Salt Lake to come to church with Karl and I. Afterward, we had a little barbeque on our new grill and watched The Count of Monte Cristo. My parents had somehow made it through life without having seen it! Later, we went out to dinner with my brother and his family.
Monday:
So I know Monday isn't technically the weekend, but I did do something exciting! I was on TV! I was on a segment on KSL (Utah news) about using everyday household items in unusual ways. I made Jello lip stain, rehydrated old mascara with saline, and cut mozzarella and angel food cake with floss. And I got to hang out with the anchors for a minute. It was pretty fun!
Well, my parents are gone now, I don't have any TV appearances in the near future, and life is back to normal. This week is my last week of vacation before I start my job, so I'm going to live it up!
How was your weekend? Did you do anything exciting? Have you ever been on TV?

That's What's Up
A lot has been going on around these parts, friends. I figured I'd write a little post about all the little (and not so little) things that are filling up my days. I'd prefer to do it in pictures, but I lost my camera for a couple of weeks, so I don't really have any for you. Bummer. I know. Instead I'll post this picture of a photo strip of Karl and I. It's Hunger Games themed cause we're cool like that.
1. Karl and I painted our bedroom. It's navy blue and rich and gorgeous and we never want to leave. There are still a couple of finishing touches to do, but I'll post pictures in a couple of days anyways.
2. Karl started school at the University of Utah again. He's going to kill it. My last class at SLCC starts in two weeks, then I'm done with math foreverrrr!!!
3. I passed all my finals and ended up with a 4.0 for the semester. That, my friends, is a complete miracle.
4. I interviewed for the same company at 3 different branches and I was turned down for all of them, except one that hadn't gotten back to me. I assumed I didn't get the job, but they called two days ago and told me I got it! It's full time, which is scary, but I think I'll survive. My biggest fear is that I'll lose any sense of creativity I have and become a drone like when I worked at Chase. There are a lot of scary things about entering the workforce again, but I know it'll be worth it.
5. My parents are currently visiting from MA. It's been fun! We took them for Mother's Day brunch at the Grand America hotel. If you haven't been, do it. It's really incredible. We also took them shooting for the first time ever. They are naturals!
6. I've been making an effort to draw or paint at least once a day. I'm trying to harness my creativity and I think I'm getting better!
7. Last Friday I had a Treat Yo Self (see videos below) day with my BFF Dixie. We got facials, manicures, and pedicures. We also went out to lunch after. It's amazing what a girl's day can do for you!
8. I took a giant leap of faith and went to an event that I was totally scared to go to. I know I'm being ambiguous, but I'm proud of the steps I'm taking. I'm changing my life one day at a time!
9. I've been working out with my trainer 3 times a week. She kicks my butt and sometimes I want to punch her, but I think there's something wrong if you don't want to occasionally punch your trainer.
10. Karl and I finished all 13 seasons of Law and Order SVU. That may seem insane, and it was, but it was awesome. Jargon from the show has permeated our everyday language. Things like "Captain, that son-of-a-bitch raped Vicky," "I AM A GOOD MOTHA!" and "Spoken like a truuueee racist" have become our favorite phrases. Also, sometimes I pretend I'm dead when Karl gets home from work and he says something pithy like, "Oh no! The police will think I killed her, so I better put her behind the dumpster at the gym so they think it was a random act of violence!" Obviously we're awesome. Haha.
11. We have moved on and are now reading Ender's Game together. Karl has never read it! On a side note, I had a dream last night that I was a Commander and Baby Spice and Sporty Spice were in my unit of Launchies. Ya. Talk about Girl Power! Hahah.
Anyways, that's life. I found my camera, so I'll take some pictures this weekend! What has life looked like for you guys? Anything exciting going on? Did you get any of my SVU references? Haha.

My First Giveaway!
Hey friends! I'm excited to announce that I am launching a giveaway today. Who doesn't love free stuff, am I right? Anyways, I'm kind of a stationary/paper product junkie. Give me new envelopes? I'm stoked. New greeting cards? I'm over the moon. One thing I especially love is a good business card. They are seriously good for everything. Business
cards can be used for anything from your business, your personal blog,
your Etsy shop, your website of all the art or literature you have
created, or just about anything else.
When I go to Utah Bloggers meetups I make sure to keep a full stack of them on hand. Networking is after all, the most important thing in gaining readership on your blog. I also write for the blog, I Heart Salt Lake as many of you may know. I always carry some of those business cards with me when I interview local business owners or write reviews of their businesses. Having business cards is the true mark of a legit blogger.
That's why today, I'm offering one lucky reader a set of their own business cards from PrintRunner. They print business cards that look professional and expensive at an affordable rate. You can print online which is super convenient as well.
Here are the details:
Business Card Size and Style: 2x3.5 (Standard)
Quantity: 250
Colors: 4/4 Color Both Sides
Paper: 14 pt. UV Coating on Front, 14 pt. UV Coating on both sides,

Helleluja! I made it!
| My indulgent treat from Ruby Snap to celebrate my last day of finals! |
I'm finally done with finals! Hell semester 2012 is over! This was probably the hardest semester of my life and I worked so incredibly hard. I'm proud of myself, but I'm glad it's done. I have a little over a week before summer semester starts, but I'm only taking one math class (my last math class ever!). Until then, I'm going to use my free time to read some books for fun, do some drawing and painting and catch up on the much needed sleep I've been missing these last two weeks! In addition to all that goodness, my parents are coming to visit for Mother's Day! I'm really excited for these next few weeks!
