I found this image on Pinterest yesterday and I haven't been able to stop thinking about it. Last night was Karl's turn to pray and I reminded him of this phrase. He said such a good prayer. At this point in our lives we are overflowing with gratitude for all of the blessings we have been given. I'm not saying we have oodles of money and we never have to lift a finger for anything, because that's not true. We work hard and we love hard. I think one of the keys to our happiness is constantly expressing gratitude. Even when things get tough, having gratitude for what you have is a game changer.
Today I am grateful for my sweet, wonderful, silly husband. I'm grateful for the home we live in where we feel safe and comfortable. I'm grateful for Karl's job and his extremely strong work ethic. I'm grateful for the ease we've had in going back to school and finding me a job. I'm grateful for my blog and all of you lovely readers that keep coming back and supporting me through everything. I'm grateful for the fall that's coming so swiftly and for my body that is strong and capable of running and walking and climbing to those soon to be changing trees in the mountains. I am grateful for our little vegetable garden that provides fresh squash, zucchini, and tomatoes every day for us. I am grateful for mine and Karl's families. Today I am grateful for the sunshine.
Sometimes it's not easy to express our gratitude, what counts is that we still do it. I urge you today to make a list of things and people that you are grateful for. Tell those people why you are grateful for them. Say a prayer of gratitude to our Heavenly Father, or whatever god you believe in. I promise you it will make your day shine.

Wow, it isn't very often a quote is so powerful that really stops me from what I'm doing. Thank you.
Loved this. Thanks Kristie!
WOW. This quote made me stop for a minute. What an awesome reminder to be thankful for all that we do have, instead of complaining about what we lack. This is going up on my mirror!
