So for today I'm going to make a quick list of things the hubs and I did on our honeymoon (it was a lot):
-Stayed in the Little America Hotel Honeymoon Suite equipped with chocolate covered strawberries, chocolates and sparkling cider. Oh man, that hotel is so gorgeous.
-Ate the most uh-mazing brunch I've ever had at the Grand America. $40 per person is SO worth it.
-Opened gifts. Thanks so much to everyone!
-Drove up Guardsman Pass to Park City and had a fancy dinner at The Silver Fork Lodge up at Brighton
-Arrived at the hotel to rose petals, chocolates, sparkling cider, cherries, water, a card, and Sun Chips that my sister and her husband set up for us.
-Spent the day walking Main Street in Park City, looking in all the art galleries and taking our time to enjoy the day.
-Cleaned our house. It was stressing us out.
-Drove to Logan and spent the night there.
-Picked up beach towels and a cooler and headed to Bear Lake. We spent the day at North Beach on the Idaho side and I finally swam in a lake! It wasn't actually that scary!
-Ate delicious food and raspberry shakes from Le Beau's.
-Had a movie marathon where we watched Che, Away We Go, Once Upon a Time in Mexico, Brick, and Adam. So so fun.
-Bought me a bike! A sweet new cruiser! Yay!
-Bought the rest of the stuff we needed (and didn't need) for our house.
-Stayed in The Little America again. A guy Karl knows at the front desk put us on the 11th floor on the South side so we could watch the Pioneer Day Fireworks in the whole valley from our lovely hotel room.
-Relaxed.
We did a lot last week, but we got a ton of relaxation and happiness in there. It was such a great week and we were both so sad to go back to real life. Pictures to come.
Words of Wednesday
“When our wagon gets stuck in the mud, God is much more likely to assist the man who gets out to push than the man who merely raises his voice in prayer—no matter how eloquent the oration.”
Dieter F. Uchtdorf
This really stuck with me today.

Thankful Thursday

Today's Thankful Thursday post is dedicated to the Fi-ahhns who in 2 days will be the hubs. I'm so thankful to have someone so loving and adoring of me. He supports me and helps calm me down when I go crazy and burst into a fit of tears (which has happened quite a bit lately). He's the man of my dreams and I can't wait to be his wifey. :) The next time I post from here, I will be a married lady. Yay!

Movie Sundays
Sundays are fast becomming our movie days. Yesterday we rented Inglourious Basterds (German), Amelie (French), and Gomorrah (Italian). So yes, we were in the mood to read subtitles. We only got through the first two.

I would have liked to see this character's plotline a little more developed
Inglourious Basterds was a classic Tarantino fully equipped with gore, beauty, and dark humor all rolled into one. I didn't love the gore, but I did rather enjoy the film overall. I was definitely not bored. And who doesn't love a movie about killing Nazis?

I've seen Amelie before and it just overflows with charm and subtle humor. It's definitely one of my favorites. If you haven't seen it yet, go rent it right now. Like now. I'm not kidding. It will change your life.

So I know I said I was taking a break from reading but I did read an easy little filler book to pass my time. Now I'm on to something more stimulating. Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte is thus far, extremely good. I'm totally loving the writing and plot line. I'm definitely discovering my love for the classics.

Happy happy!

This weekend was full of so much perfection. I wish I could relive it over and over. To keep this short, here's a list of what I did. I love lists.
-Went to the farmers market downtown
-Ate some seriously good food and bought some plants
-Tore up the overgrown backyard, took said plants and created a humble flower and vegetable garden.
-Went for a refreshing swim
-Planned some more wedding
-Baked my favorite chocolate chip cookies
-Dined at a delicious bbq with the Eatchels
-Had a fire with our BFFs. Marshmallows and Starbursts were roasted. Some sparklers were lit. Good times were had.
-Slept. For 12 hours(divine!).
-DIY-ed some cake stands for ze vedding
-Went to breakfast with the Fi-ahhns
-At breakfast witnessed an old man walk up to another guy and say "You Mexican hombre? Haablalalblala (imitating speaking Spanish). Everyone looks Mexican nowadays!" Hahahhahahah.
-Watched 2 incredible and two horrendous movies. The Constant Gardener and The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus= :) AND The Book of Eli and Mermaid (A Russian film)= :(
Overall a very busy and very good long weekend.
Oh... And hey... I'M GETTING MARRIED IN 11 DAYS!

TGFTDW (Thank Goodness for Three Day Weekends)

Things I'm loving right now:
-It's Friday. It's Friday before a long weekend. I NEVER get those. I cannot wait. Sleeping in, yardwork, wedding schtuff, swimming, etc.
-The Fi-ahhns rocked his comedy show last night. He did his longest set ever and was HILARIOUS.
-Sending people we don't really know wedding invites and getting a check back.
-My oldest friend, Camilla Jane is in town from NY for a family reunion. She came to the Fi-ahhn's show and brought lovely (and naughty) wedding gifts. ;)
-Went to dinner last night with a bunch of friends and truly felt at home. Wonderful. I'm at such a good place in my life.
-I'm thinking I'm going to try a carrot cake recipe I found. I've never made carrot cake before so this should be interesting.
-My new nautical shoes from Target. So super cute.
-I get to sleep in tomorrow. YES.
-I'm getting married in TWO, count them, TWO flipping weeks!
Happy Fourth of July everyone! I hope you all have lovely time!
